Light and shine in the future! 昕 Nuofei leads lighting innovation in the Internet of Things era

May 16, 2018 is a remarkable day for Philips Lighting. On this day, Philips Lighting announced for the first time the company’s new Chinese name, “Chuo Nuo Fei”, which was also the world’s first “International Day of Light” set up by UNESCO.

In fact, as early as March 16 this year, Philips Lighting has announced plans to change the company name to Signify. With the development of LED technology and smart interconnection technology, the definition of light has changed. The new name of Signify is also derived from the new definition of lighting: that light has become an intelligent language that can connect and transmit information.

According to Mr. Wang Wei, Senior Vice President of Global Signify and President of Greater China, “With this change of name, Nuofei hopes to express the understanding of the light and the company’s positioning more clearly. As far as company positioning is concerned, Mainly reflected in two aspects: First, the company's leading position in the global lighting industry, continue to provide high-quality products and the most advanced lighting technology; Second, it is committed to becoming a lighting company in the Internet of Things era."

It is worth mentioning, however, that "Chen Nuofei" is just a change of Chinese name at the company level, but its global sales of products will continue to use Philips, the world's most trusted lighting brand. Therefore, this change of name does not have a direct impact on the end consumer. As long as they purchase products through professional channels, they are still Philips brand lighting products.

Therefore, for Yunuofei, the change is only a name, and a new definition of light; the same is the focus on lighting products and the inheritance of innovative technologies. The rebranding is a new starting point for the transformation of Nuo-Yaofei, and it is also the beginning of its value concept of “light, beyond sight”.

Achieve a leap to lead the lighting innovation in the Internet of Things era

In addition to announcing the official rebranding, Renoff also officially launched a new Greater China headquarters building built using smart connected lighting technology. It is understood that Mr. Yao Mengming, general manager of the Lighting Design and Application Department of China in Signify, has successfully integrated Chenuofei's understanding of lighting and light and the latest visible light communication technologies into the office environment in the design of the entire building. .

As we all know, lighting has the characteristics of extensive coverage and in-depth penetration. If we convert lighting points into access points for the Internet of Things, we can greatly accelerate the advancement of the Internet of Things and realize intelligence and informationization. The company's headquarters in Greater China integrated its LED innovative products and smart connected lighting systems. From the street lights around the building, the architectural facade lighting of the building, and the office lighting inside the building, all of the intelligent interconnection lighting can bring A huge leap forward.

In March this year, Nuofei launched a two-way optical communication technology (LiFi technology) and successfully applied visible light communication technology to the building in the Greater China headquarters. According to Mr. Wang Tao, "Visible light communication is the use of mobile phone camera to capture the fluctuation of light, and then use light fluctuations as a signal to capture the position of the lamp, and then send the signal to the lamp to form a visible light coding technology."

From the aspect of bi-directional optical communication technology (LiFi), in fact, this technology is to modulate lights into light signals that are recognized by everyone by installing modulating regulators on the luminaires and then transmitting them to computers with LiFi network cards. The LiFi network card sends the signal back through the infrared to the luminaire, forming a loop, which in turn produces two-way communications, which allows information to be transmitted over a very wide frequency band.

In the case of LiFi launched by Nuofei, its transmission speed can reach 30 megabits per second. Therefore, from the perspective of long-term development, LiFi can be used more widely, whether it is in the current office or in areas where WiFi radio signals are more sensitive, such as medical and nuclear power. In addition, since WiFi can be eavesdropped or cracked, and optical communication only shines light, it can be cracked when it is received, which greatly improves the security of communication.

Of course, not all lighting fixtures can directly apply LiFi technology. Chenuofei has positioned itself as an intelligent lighting company in the era of the Internet of Things and hopes to connect every lighting point to a larger network under the Internet of Things. Therefore, in the future, Nuofei will also devote more R&D efforts to intelligent interconnection and try to solve the limitations of technology use and widely promote LiFi technology.

It is worth mentioning that currently, Nuo-Yofei has more than 29 million points in the world can be connected to the Internet of Things, and through these huge number of connection points to pass different information.

People-oriented, integrating artificial intelligence into lighting

With the increasing popularity of artificial intelligence (AI) in China, it has infiltrated almost all walks of life. What role does artificial intelligence play in the LED lighting industry?

According to Mr. Yao Mengming, “In the lighting industry, we will add human behaviors, such as voice, gestures, and actions, to lighting scenes as much as possible. For example, the music will be delivered to the system and played through the lights Music, this is action transmission."

It is undeniable that artificial intelligence can be used in many future lighting scene applications. For example, by adding AR technology to the lighting design in the stadium, viewers watching TV at home can also experience it.

It is worth noting that even at the level of artificial intelligence, people should be oriented to meet the comfort experience of people and let all light or lighting effects turn around. Therefore, simply superimposing intelligent control technology with lighting equipment is obviously not suitable for all people and should not be the development direction of the new era.

Pay attention to the investment in the Chinese market and continue to increase market share

Since its development, Chenuofei has a history of 127 years in the world. Its product line covers a wide range, starting with light sources, such as energy-saving lamps and fluorescent tubes commonly used at home, LED light sources and LED lamps, and lighting systems. After continuous improvement of the layout, Qinuofei has successfully transformed itself from a traditional lighting company into an LED lighting company and continues to lead the global lighting industry.

The Chinese market has always been a major market that Nuofei has attached great importance to. Now Nuofei has entered the Chinese market for a century. After years of accumulation and precipitation, Sinomax has established a wide range of sales channels in China to serve the professional and consumer lighting markets in China.

It is understood that Sinomax has 36 sales offices in China, more than 300 Philips Lighting Museums and 10,000 retail outlets, 5 production bases, and 1 world's second largest R&D center.

According to statistics, currently Sinomax’s turnover in the Chinese market accounts for about 8% of the total global market turnover. Next, Nuofei will pay more attention to its investment in the Chinese market, and hopes to continue to increase its market share in China through its own growth and development channels such as mergers and acquisitions.

The Internet of Things connects the Internet of Things, and this building, which is based at Humano Lighting (Human Centric Lighting), integrates the management of street lights, buildings, interiors, energy consumption, etc., into one for all people. Smart Connected Lighting has innovatively helped all types of space to achieve green, healthy, and lean goals. In the future, Nuofei will continue to establish itself as a benchmark lighting company in the Internet of Things era.

At the same time, Haonuofei upholds the people-oriented design concept and adopts new and advanced artificial intelligence technology to create an ultimate and comfortable user experience. Especially for the current situation in the Chinese market, the vigorous development of a large population and middle-class population has a higher demand for intelligent lighting at home. Therefore, in the next few years, Nuofei will rely on innovative technologies, focus on lighting products, and strong brand influence to better explain the new meaning of light in the Chinese market.
