Another big US plant announces price increases for lighting products
In an open letter to the distribution agency on May 15, local time, Eaton USA stated:
As the cost of metal materials, raw materials, freight and parts continues to rise, Eaton Lighting will increase the prices of legacy technology products as well as select LED and controls products.
The average increase is 6%, depending on the product type range. The increase in metal products, which account for a relatively high percentage of products, may be higher than 6%.
Eaton Lighting said that this adjustment will be implemented starting July 16 this year. It also stated that Eaton Lighting reserves the right to change the time of implementation and price increase due to continuous changes in the material market and government regulations.
A few days ago, Acuity Brands, another company in the United States, announced that from June 11th, it will increase the price of all traditional lighting products and a variety of LED products by 6% in the United States.
For Acuity's price hikes, a British manufacturer said that this move could be seen as a "turning point" in the trend of falling prices over the years. Media Lux said that "Acuity's bold statement this week will be copied by other brands."
